Literations Welcomes Aubrey Henderson to Board of Directors
BOSTON, MA — Literations is proud to announce the appointment of Aubrey Henderson to its Board of Directors. Aubrey brings a dynamic blend of experience in both corporate leadership and nonprofit management, as well as a deep personal commitment to early literacy.
Aubrey currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at NEADS World Class Service Dogs. Previously, Aubrey served as Executive Director of Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts, where she led the organization through a period of transformative growth. Under her leadership, the organization expanded its operating budget, relocated to a larger facility to better serve families in need, and cultivated a strong, mission-driven team culture.
Prior to her nonprofit leadership, Aubrey held executive roles at global consumer goods companies including Unilever and Procter & Gamble. She also contributed to the healthcare sector through fundraising and development work at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Her experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors brings a strategic and well-rounded perspective to the Literations board.
Aubrey’s connection to early literacy work is personal as well as professional. She previously served as a board member for the Needham Education Foundation and is a former Carroll School for Dyslexia parent. Her passion for education and literacy aligns closely with Literations’ mission to close the literacy opportunity gap for young students through evidence-based, one-on-one mentorship.
“We are thrilled to welcome Aubrey to our Board of Directors,” said Wes Enicks, Executive Director of Literations. “Her leadership experience, strategic vision, and deep dedication to literacy and equity will be invaluable as we continue to grow our impact across Greater Boston and beyond.”
